About

Our mission is to equip you with the motivation and information that you need for an effective mission trip abroad.

Hi, I'm CJ Palmer (and that's my wife, Teri), and we believe something very simple: More effective mission trips create greater impact in the name of Jesus. We are the ones behind Prepare My Mission, and we're so glad you stopped by. This is our story.

Backstory

I went on my first mission trip in 2008 to Kenya. I packed my passport in my left-back pocket and wore jeans. I set my hostel room on fire because I hadn't yet figured out how outlets and voltage worked outside of the United States. It was my first time out of the country, and needless to say, I was doing it wrong. I was ill-equipped.

Today

Fast-forward to today. God used my first mission trip experience to open my eyes to a world bigger than my own and a plan greater than my own. Over the past decade I've had the opportunity to work, volunteer, and travel with several missions organizations, and I've learned a lot (the hard way). All of that experience is now being poured into this site. I'm passionate about sharing what I've learned (and what I'm continuing to learn). To put it all simply, I want you to be equipped.

I believe that when you are well-equipped with encouragement, knowledge, and gear, you will have a more effective mission trip abroad. And a more effective mission trip creates greater impact in the name of Jesus.

Working with me on the site is my wife, Teri. She has a heart for missions just like I do, although I don't think she's set any hostel rooms on fire (yet). Teri writes our best articles, helps shoot video, and is featured in many of our videos and products. None of this would be happening without her.

Enough about us. Let's get you going.
